Ssenge Home for Boys
  Ssenge House for Boys

The Ssenge Children's Home was built in 2008 as a home for boys rescued from the Kisenyi Slum. Currently there are 10 boys living in the home, ranging in age from 4 years to 14 years old. The African Hearts leaders rescued these boys and brought them to to live in this loving family environment in the small rural village of Ssenge. These boys enjoy a normal childhood now with clean beds, good food, school, family chores and time for play. On Saturdays they go to AWANA club and on Sundays they sing and play drums at church. They are beginning to learn to play brass band like their older brothers in the Royalle Band. Most importantly, these boys are growing in their faith in Christ.

The African Hearts staff living in the home consists of a house mother, house uncle and a cook. These orphans and street kids are loved and cared for as they receive food, clothing, medical care and an education at the African Hearts Junior School. Their lives are transformed as they study the Bible, attend church and become disciples of Jesus Christ.
