The Ssenge Home is for boys rescued from the slums. Their lives are transformed as they study the Bible, attend church and become disciples of Jesus.

The African Hearts Junior School has hundreds of students from Ssenge Village and the neighboring areas.

The Royalle Band has grown to over 60 boys and performs all over Kampala and surrounding areas. The Youth Hostel is for older boys as they transition from the Ssenge Home.

African Hearts reaches out to street boys with the love of Christ. We also provide vocational training to train boys to make their own way.

African Hearts Community Organization (AfriHCO) is a community-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda. AfriHCO was started in 2001 with the aim of working with orphaned and vulnerable young people to improve their safety and physical, spiritual and emotional health and future well-being.

The organization's target population is children who are living on the street, many of whom have been orphaned by HIV or abandoned or victimized by family violence. The organization currently operates two homes housing former street children in Ssenge. Children living in these homes are taught the Bible and are provided with shelter, food, love and education.

In addition, the organization assists other vulnerable children in the Ssenge community through the African Hearts Junior School as well as providing counseling, health care and scholarships to support their education. AfriHCO's outreach activities maintain contact with the many children still living on the street, and provide basic elements of care for them through the slum ministry.
